DORIS TROTT WOMEN’S GROUP: Celebrating Female Friendships through Cooking, Crafts, and more!

Doris Trott was a beloved patron who dearly enjoyed cooking, crafts, and gardening. When she passed, she left a generous bequest to Hope Library to help us provide resources to patrons who shared her passion. The Doris Trott Women’s Group was founded in her memory so that women can bond with each other while exploring new hobbies. We meet on the last Thursday of every month to try a new recipe, to make something beautiful, or to try our hand at a take-home gardening project.

In May, you will get a chance to cook like Martha Stewart for a day. We will be choosing recipes from “One Pot” by the Editors of Martha Stewart Living to prepare and share. Bring your finished dishes, appetites, and impressions to this fun gathering.

Just the Best Film Series is a new film club that explores the work of the greatest movie directors of all time. You do not have to be a film buff or movie historian to enjoy this series. Each movie is served with fresh popcorn, a brief introduction, and a side of lively conversation.

We are kicking off the year with one of the great masters of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, and his showpiece, “Vertigo”, a superb tale of murder, madness, and mystery that stars James Stewart and Kim Novak.
